VEEM Extreme propulsion has won the Blue-Green Technology/Innovation category at the 2026 Marine Research Hub (MRH) Innovation & Sustainability Awards, presented on 28 October at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS). VEEM Managing Director Mark Miocevich accepted the award on VEEM’s behalf. Now in their fourth year, the awards are run by the Marine Research Hub in partnership with FLIBS. This category recognises products and technologies developed in the last three years that show significant innovation in sustainability, resource efficiency and environmental impact reduction.
VEEM Extreme propulsion package is a complete shaft line system that cuts the fuel consumption and carbon emissions of commercial and luxury vessels. At its core is VEEM’s proprietary high-tensile alloy, which is strong enough for slimmer blade profiles and sections than conventional propeller materials allow. In Lloyd’s Register-witnessed sea trials, the VEEM Extreme propeller, flow-aligned rudder and twisted bracket together reduced fuel burn and carbon emissions by 24.1% against an industry-standard setup. The propeller and rudder can be retrofitted to existing vessels, giving operators an immediate fuel reduction without a new build.
VEEM thanks the Marine Research Hub, the judging panel and the FLIBS team for the recognition. We look forward to bringing VEEM Extreme to more builders and operators across North America and beyond.
