The client operates one of 15 Damen FCS 5009 vessels in the Gulf of Mexico. They saw a clear advantage in using a gyrostabilizer due to increased safety and cost efficiency for marine personnel logistics and transfer operations.
By incorporating one of the 20-tonne VEEM units into the vessel, roll motions were reduced significantly, enabling the vessel to operate with optimal speed and efficiency, even in rough seas.
Throughout sea trials, the vessel achieve >60% roll reduction at 19 knots in beam seas. With an impressive >86% roll reduction at rest when station keeping on DP.
