The VEEM Gyro VG260SD has received a special mention in the METSTRADE, globally recognised DAME Design Award for 2018.
The VG260SD is the first gyro stabilizer unit capable of stabilizing a 250 tonne vessel as a single gyro installation. Successful sea trials in collaboration with Damen Ships, June 2018. First commercial unit for delivery, Jan 2019. New SD model features; superior roll attenuation performance, increased service intervals, and setting a new benchmark in low noise emissions.
The jury commented:
Beautifully engineered, the VG260SD gyrostabilizer is designed to work as a single installation for up to 250-tonne ships. Other features include improved roll attenuation performance, increased service intervals and lower noise emissions.
The DAME Design Award, now in its 28th edition, continues to perform a vital function within the marine industry in stimulating design progression across all disciplines and product types.
