When it comes to propeller performance, even the slightest imperfections can have significant effects on performance. When propeller manufactures use pre-alloyed metals from external suppliers, they run the risk of increased cavitation, casting imperfections and weaknesses across the face of the blades.

VEEM are one of the only propeller manufacturers in the world with the capabilities and expertise to undertake all metal alloying in house. This guarantees all materials are of the highest quality and every propeller is manufactured to perfection.

Flawless chemistry

VEEM has a rich, 55+ year history in high-quality engineering and manufacturing services that require flawless metal chemistry. This has lead to perfecting the alloying process and ensuring the highest quality products can be delivered across the different VEEM divisions. The VEEM Ltd operation covers some 14,500 square metres and includes Australia’s largest non-ferrous foundry where we perform all alloying without imperfections.

Stronger propellers

In-house alloying means we can guarantee the quality and chemistry of the metals we use to cast our propellers to produce stronger propellers.

Stronger propellers reduce the effects of cavitation on the blades of marine propellers, preventing them from irreversible damage, vibration and noise.

Stronger propellers also ensure more efficient geometry can be employed and propellers can be designed and developed with limited constraints.
