Two 1m VEEM Star LC propellers with Interceptor Strips have been installed on Starflyte, one of Rottnest Express’ high-speed passenger ferries operating off the coast of Western Australia. The propellers are fitted with VEEM’s patented Interceptor
technology, which allows the relative pitch of each blade to be adjusted in situ enabling performance to be optimised for varying load and operating conditions without the need to lift the vessel.
Rottnest Express has been servicing the popular run from Perth and Fremantle to Rottnest Island for over 60 years. Operating one of the busiest and most exposed ferry routes in the southern hemisphere, their fleet is purpose-built for speed, safety and passenger comfort. The installation of VEEM Star LC propellers continues a longstanding relationship between VEEM and Western Australia’s commercial ferry operators, following the recent supply of VEEM Star Interceptor propellers for Rottnest Fast Ferries’ Ocean Master catamaran.
VEEM is proud to continue supporting Rottnest Express in delivering smooth, efficient crossings to one of Australia’s most iconic island destinations.
