Flow-Aligned Rudder
The VEEM Extreme flow-aligned rudder uses advanced NACA foil sections, cast and CNC-machined in VEEM’s high-strength Extreme alloy. Engineered to work as part of the VEEM Extreme propulsion system, it delivers 72% less drag than standard parallel-plate rudders. The VEEM Extreme flow-aligned rudder increased speed by 0.25 knots and reduced fuel burn by 6.2% in witnessed trials. Its twisted profile ensures consistent loading, cleaner water flow, and improved handling, particularly at higher speeds.

Tested. Witnessed. Verified.
Our performance numbers are backed by sea trials independently witnessed by Lloyd’s Register, with efficiency and speed improvements verified under controlled test conditions. Testing compared the VEEM Extreme propellers, VEEM Nibral propellers, and the VEEM Extreme flow-aligned rudder against industry-standard propulsion systems, including a Class 1 finished propeller and flat-plate rudder.
