About our Verified Test Results

Before releasing any performance claims, VEEM undertook a detailed and transparent sea trial program on our 64-foot Open Sport Convertible. These trials were designed to isolate the hydrodynamic contribution of each component within the VEEM Extreme propulsion system.

Independent Oversight by Lloyd’s Register

To ensure accuracy and transparency, all sea trial runs were independently witnessed by representatives from Lloyd’s Register. Their role was to observe and confirm that:

  • The test procedures were followed correctly
  • Vessel loading, sea state, and environmental conditions were noted
  • Instrumentation and data collection were performed consistently
  • Comparative runs were conducted under fair test conditions

Lloyd’s Register’s presence provides an independent, credible layer of oversight — ensuring the process was transparent and properly conducted.

How the Trials Were Performed

To isolate the performance impact of each component, VEEM performed controlled back-to-back comparisons between:

  • Class 1 hand-profiled propellers
  • VEEM fully CNC-machined NiBrAl propellers
  • VEEM Extreme propellers
  • VEEM Extreme flow-aligned rudder
  • (With shaft and bracket testing underway)

Each configuration was tested through the full RPM range, repeating runs at identical engine settings to ensure consistent data trends for both speed and fuel burn.

Using the same vessel, same engines, and consistent loading allowed VEEM to clearly identify true performance differences.

What the Data Showed

VEEM Extreme Propeller vs Class 1 propeller

  • 11.9% reduction in fuel burn and carbon footprint
  • +3.36 knots top speed (to 43.05 knots)

VEEM Extreme Propeller vs VEEM NiBrAl

  • 6.2% reduction in fuel burn
  • +0.89 knots speed gain

VEEM Extreme Rudder

  • 72% less drag than a flat-plate rudder
  • 0.25-knot speed gain
  • 6.2% fuel burn reduction when paired with VEEM Extreme propellers

Propeller + Rudder Combined

  • 18.1% reduction in fuel burn
  • Verified under independently witnessed conditions
  • Additional shaft and bracket trial results forthcoming

VEEM Extreme represents a step-change in conventional shaft-driven propulsion. The results are not estimates or simulations — they are real on-water tests, observed independently, conducted under controlled conditions, and now confirmed by industry operators.
